Thanksgiving 2025
This Thanksgiving, we find ourselves grateful in ways we never anticipated.
Grateful for search and rescue professionals who left their own families to spend days in the Georgia mountains looking for ours (Charles is our family). Grateful for the K-9 handlers and their dogs, the helicopter and drone pilots, and the volunteers who turned expertise into compassion. Grateful for a community—here in Union County, in Dallas, and beyond—that has shown us the true meaning of neighborly love.
And grateful, most of all, for Charles M. Hosch.
Charles teaches us that gratitude isn't something you practice when life is easy—it's who you are when life is hard. He has spent decades showing students, clients, and everyone fortunate enough to know him that success isn't measured by titles or accolades, but by whether you've done work that matters and treated people with dignity along the way.
Today, even as we live between hope and heartache, we're learning that lesson all over again.
We're thankful for every conversation Charles has had, every story he has told, every student and Scout he's mentored, every Sunday school class he has taught, every colleague he has supported, and every kindness he's shown. We're thankful for the years he spent exploring these mountains he loved. And we're thankful that this search isn't over—it's simply entering a new phase.
We're also deeply grateful to our clients, who have shown extraordinary grace and understanding during these difficult weeks. Your patience and compassion have allowed us to be present for Charles and his family while continuing to serve you. That generosity means more than words can express.
To everyone who has stood with our family during this time: your prayers, your practical help, your refusal to give up—these gifts humble us. This is what Charles would do for any of you, and we see his spirit reflected in your generosity.
We will find him. Until then, we're grateful you're searching with us, and encourage you to visit our new website for the latest updates on the search for Charles: https://www.bringcharleshome.com.
