Free Privacy Training Re: GDPR and More.  This week, let’s highlight a free resource that may be helpful to your business.  Recently, the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) published the information governance and legislation training modules that ICO uses to train its own staff.  A link follows:

Among other laws and regulations, the training modules cover the UK’s GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).  (The PECRs apply to organizations who want to send electronic marketing messages, or use cookies, or provide electronic communications services to the public.)  The modules’ topics include data protection and how to handle sensitive personal data.

Because UK's GDPR is almost identical to the EU's GDPR, Modules 1-11 can be particularly helpful to any business subject to the GDPR’s requirements, including any US company doing business in the UK, EU, or EEA, or otherwise processing the personal data of residents in any of those countries.
